Temperature

Storage Type

Temperature (°C)

Temperature (°F)

Notes

Refrigerator (short-term storage)
2°C – 8°C
36°F – 46°F
Ideal for most reconstituted peptides; slows degradation
Freezer (long-term lyophilized powder)
−20°C
−4°F
Only for dry powder form (before reconstitution)
Room temperature (temporary transport)
20°C – 25°C
68°F – 77°F
Only for short durations if permitted by compound stability

Note: Solvent selection should be based on the peptide’s solubility profile and experimental needs.

General Storage Rules (Lab Use Only)

  • Store reconstituted peptides in clearly labeled vials with:
    • Compound name
    • Concentration (e.g., 2.5 mg/mL)
    • Date of reconstitution
    • Researcher initials (optional)
  • Never refreeze a reconstituted solution unless validated by lab SOP
  • Discard after 14–30 days, depending on compound sensitivity and study timeline
  • Store vials upright, in sterile secondary containers to avoid contamination
  • Keep away from direct light (light-sensitive peptides should be wrapped in foil)

🚫 Do Not:

  • ❌ Store at temperatures above 25°C / 77°F
  • ❌ Use past the recommended storage window
  • ❌ Mix old and new solutions in the same vial
  • ❌ Use shared refrigerators without designated lab containment
